Simulant Celadon

Simulant Blends with Iron, Cobalt, and Titania

This glaze is the result of a line blend between two simulated materials:

It is a simplified version of Substitute Glaze Stone & Glaze Ash Celadon

The chemical analysis is quite similar to Traditional Qingbai Glaze (Glaze Ash 20%). Interestingly, both are "two-component" recipes with only two ingredients: glaze stone and glaze ash. In this case, though, the glaze stone and glaze ash are simulated recipes using modern materials to fulfill historical analyses.

More information can be found in Nigel Wood's Chinese Glazes.
